Sad news from the US in that David Bright, shipwreck researcher (and blogger) David Bright has died following a dive on the wreck he was most passionate about – the Andrea Doria.

David Bright, a leading researcher into underwater shipwrecks, has died after diving to the site of the Italian luxury liner Andrea Doria off Nantucket where he was working in preparation for the wreck’s 50th anniversary. He was 49.

No official word on his blog or the website of his Nautical Research Group.
